Shelbyville is home to the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration, an annual event which takes place each year in late August. The 11-day Celebration draws over a quarter of a million visitors to Shelbyville and Bedford County.
Shelbyville and Bedford County also host over 40 weekends of events annually; attracting an additional 250,000 visitors to the community. Many of these events are held at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration Grounds and Calsonic Arena.
Two of the largest events are Bell Buckle/Webb School Arts and Craft Fair and the RC and Moon Pie Festival. These events also attract tourists traveling to the nearby Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg and the Tennessee Walking Horse Museum.
